Public Health Protocol

Your health and safety is of utmost importance at Synthesis Medicine Acupuncture Asheville.

Please read on for protocols around potentially communicable diseases including colds, flus, and Covid-19.

Masks

Your comfort as a patient in every way is the priority in clinic. You are more than welcome to wear a mask, as well as request that I do so as well at anytime, for any reason. 

​

If you have recently travelled by plane, attended a large indoor gathering, or suspect exposure to any respiratory bacteria or virus, please take initiative and wear a mask while inside the office.

​

N95 masks are always available upon request. 

​

Please use your discretion, taking into account that patients and practitioner may be immune-compromised.

COVID-19 Exposure 

Should you have known exposure to Covid-19, please reschedule your appointment for at least 5 days. 

​

Please also alert me to your reason for delaying your appointment, so that I can be prepared and masked upon your arrival for your rescheduled time.

​

You are welcome to keep your appointment time and switch to a a virtual herbal medicine consultation to help strengthen your body's ability to fend off the virus. 

Cold & Flu-Like Symptoms

Should you begin to experience respiratory or flu-like symptoms prior to your appointment, please call and discuss ahead of time.

 

We may be able to move forward with your appointment given varied circumstances. 

​

For example, cold and flu symptoms may actually be hay-fever, in which case, you are welcome to come in. Sometimes the weather can cause a dip in immunity or congestion, in which case, you are also welcome to come in.

​

We may also decide to each wear a well-fitting, N95 mask for the duration of your appointment. 

Office Safety & Sanitation Protocols

All pertinent surfaces will be wiped down with an appropriate disinfectant between patients. This includes the table itself, doorknobs, intake chair, desk, keyboard, etc. 

​

All linens will be changed and fresh for each patient, and washed with disinfectant detergent.

​

Masks will be worn by both practitioner and patient on a case by case basis. 

​

An air purifier with Hepa filter will be running for the duration of your appointment, and turned on high between patients to thoroughly clear the air for the 15 minute buffer time between patients.

​

Your clinician will follow all CDC safety and handwashing protocol as well as Clean Needle Technique.
